An interview conducted by halofighter8, MPBS Junior State Employee

The State of Mayflower has experienced a high presence of armed forces over the last few years. From government agencies to terroristic criminal organizations, most citizens can’t go a day without seeing a firearm out on public streets. Officials and even residents of Clark County are caught in relentless gunfights due to frequent shootouts and organized crime.

However, some locals wield firearms for reasons other than street violence or law enforcement, and this is not out of the question for the self-proclaimed militant organization, the 10th Legion. Widely known and described by most as a “criminal” or “terrorist” organization, the 10th Legion instead expresses themselves as an armed militia standing for public safety and protection from governmental corruption.

These claims that the 10th Legion made contradict my recent report on their alleged involvement in the increase of criminal activity within Mersea, Mayflower. On July 20th, I was contacted by a representative of the 10th Legion, who informed me that their command had found my article “misleading”, and asked if I would be interested in an interview. I agreed and was forwarded to their commander, FortiumImperator, who I then discussed the details with.

The agreed day of the interview, on July 23rd, I was greeted with a convoy of gray cars outside of the MPBS Headquarters. It was quite shocking; I didn’t expect a full-and-formal squadron for what I expected to be a quick interview. Nonetheless, I was invited into one of their vehicles and was driven off to a secluded location over near Medford, a fortress which is speculated by some to be a historic war site.

After we arrived, I was taken under a small opening of the fortress and out of the rain. I greeted the Commander, FortiumImperator, as well as one of their Generals, FortiumMxxaty. The other members of the Legion posted around the building, firearms drawn with the intent to keep outsiders from interfering. With this, we finally got to proceed with the interview. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite last as long as I would have liked it to, as the Mayflower Breau of Investigations seemed to have tracked down the convoy in a planned assault on the 10th Legion.

The Interview

An excerpt of the interview with 10th Legion Commander FortiumImperator and 10th Legion General FortiumMxxaty.

“For the people who will be reading at home, would you mind first explaining what exactly the 10th Legion is? What does your organization stand for?”
FortiumImperator said, “It’s simple, we’re a band of people who are simply sick of the corruption which has been presented by the current government, the foreign control as of recent has been blatant and we wish to liberate it.”

Amidst the next question, a nearby member of the 10th Legion warned us that there may be gunfire, but that there’s nothing to worry about. The interview continued as normal.

“Now, I understand that I was initially contacted with the impression that my recent news article regarding the increase of criminal activity in Mersea contained some false information about the 10th Legion. Is this correct?”
FortiumMxxaty responded, “Correct. Other news agencies have been trying to label us as criminals, petty thugs, things like such. Anyone that knows us and knows our motives know that this is not true. We have fought and will continue to fight corruption, criminal gangs, and any threat to the working man of Mayflower. We have never and will never perform attacks on innocent individuals. But it’s also important to know who really is innocent.”
FortiumImperator added, “We in-fact wish to protect people. We’re sick of groups taking advantage of the weak government and committing atrocities against innocent people.”
FortiumMxxaty continued, “The recent war on Ridgeway could also be seen as an atrocity, an unjust and unsupported war by the people of Mayflower.”

At this point of the interview, gunfire was constantly being exchanged between 10th Legion members and law enforcement, later identified as members of the Mayflower Breau of Investigations.

FortiumMxxaty commented, “As you can hear, they are currently opening fire on us. Atrocities indeed.”

As the last question was being answered, the 10th Legion began to suffer casualties from the firefight with the MBI. The interview was to continue, but as we were bringing it to a close, officers from the MBI entered the fortress and neutralized the last remaining legionnaires, including the ones that I had been interviewing. I was picked up later by another member of the 10th Legion, where we attempted to continue the interview in Greenwich of Lander City, but it was met with the same fate before I was able to ask anything else.

Is the 10th Legion Misunderstood by Mayflower?

Despite the rough-and-sudden end to my interview with the 10th Legion command, they were surprisingly hospitable for an organization widely labeled as criminals. They made their message clear during the interview: they aren’t attempting to be labeled as criminals or terrorists. 10th Legion command claims that the organization aspires to be a protective force against governmental corruption and crime against the State of Mayflower.

The 10th Legion’s views of their own operations clash with the public’s view. However, only time will tell: Will the Legion’s claim of good intentions stand true, or will it collapse to the State government or even themselves?
