On January 31st, an employee of the Clark County Transportation Authority by the name of RedDuke27 suffered a life-threatening crash while operating a company bus. He was found trapped beneath the wheel of his company-issued vehicle while it was slightly submerged in a lake on the outskirts of Lander City. RedDuke27 presumably lost control of the vehicle during a routine drive around Clark County, when it went off of the road and into the water.
Officials of the Clark County Regional Hospital and the Mayflower Port Authority soon arrived at the scene, where they began to attempt an extraction. A quick assessment of the situation lead them to realize that RedDuke27 was injured, and he could not exit the bus on his own. Support from a National Guard flight medic was requested, who landed at the crash site not long after the call.

While deciding the next course of action, the situation grew dire as the bus began to slip forward, sinking further into the water and causing the inside of the bus to become partially flooded. In response to this, a port authority operator secured the back of the bus to their vehicle using metal cables to prevent it from slipping further.
After the bus was secured, on-site medics continued to talk to the driver, getting an understanding of his injuries. The National Guard flight medic entered the water, swimming in front of the bus and reaching through the shattered windshield. The medic was able to successfully free RedDuke27, carrying him over to the shore where he was treated for a sprained ankle and a head laceration.

Once first aid was applied, RedDuke27 was helped up the hill and placed inside of a helicopter. He was flown off to the hospital where he is currently making a recovery.
