In a unfortunate turn of events, the Mersea Bridge has once again had a partial collapse; just only a few months after being rebuilt following the previous collapse. (which is still under investigation, and under speculation- of who or what cause the collapse) This time the collapse has once again shut down both directors of traffic in and out of Mersea via the Mersea Bridge; and has sparked a large emergency response from the Clark County Fire Department, the Mayflower Department of Transportation, and the Port Authority Tunnel & Bridge Commission, all which were on scene when the Mayflower Public Broadcasting Service arrived at the scene.

Portions of the bridge can be seen in the Mersea River below, which could really raise concerns for the Village of Mersea that relies on fishing for its economy.

Law Enforcement & the Government have not yet released details on the cause of this latest collapse, and stabilization is on-going to prevent further damage; and temporary bridge access for Law Enforcement usage.

The Mayflower Public Broadcasting Service will provide updates as new information becomes available.
