Violence is nothing new to the State of Mayflower, from the Saratoga Resistance to the Mayflower Red Front, terrorist organizations always have and will be present in the state. What comes as a shock to many though, is their recent rise in the political sector. These paramilitary organizations have recently begun to not only field candidates but also win many state-wide elections. In this article, we will be diving deeper into their rise in politics, as well as asking a prominent politician his view on the situation.
One of the many ways these paramilitaries grow is by offering citizens free guns and money to join, which will be important later as we dive into how they win elections. Many new members in this community are desperate to get rich quickly, and these organizations present themselves as the fast lane. Once a paramilitaries member count reaches the hundreds they typically get involved in politics. When combined with their already shady recruitment tactics, this creates a system where they can essentially buy votes.
Lieutenant Governors’ Statement
We asked Lieutenant Governor DevelopingNublets for his view on the issue, and he had much to say. When asked he stated that involvement in these paramilitaries and politics “is not necessarily a bad thing” and stated that the issue is when these organizations are violent. He said, “It’s a shame that voters allow these people to get elected” when asked about violent paramilitary leaders. He also said it is the duty of the citizens to overpower these organizations politically and take back political power.
While many of these paramilitaries may seem powerful, it is ultimately up to the people of Mayflower to stop them. We must stop giving them a steady membership and stop supporting them. The politicians should represent the working majority, rather than the violent minority. Though it is ultimately the people’s duty to keep them in check.
