Israel has been very prominent throughout the Union of Columbia’s history as citizens push for a geopolitical partnership between the two states. Columbian lobbyists show their support for a positive international relationship through the Columbian Israel Public Affairs Committe (CIPAC). Though it’s common to see members of CIPAC participating in political campaigns and formal agendas, some civilians decided to represent the committee through a more physically intensive activity.
On July 31st, a man by the name of gangstercomputergo_d started a marathon run around Clark County. The man claimed that he intended to run a lap around the county in support of CIPAC, who he said was funding him for the event. However, his mission wasn’t completed alone, as some civilians joined him in the marathon. He even garnered a small escort from county officials, with members from the Clark County Regional Hospital and the Clark County Sheriff’s office slowly trailing beside the runners in their vehicles.

Starting off the marathon in the town of Mersea, gangstercomputergo_d ran across the Mersea Bridge towards the direction of Fort Standish. During this stretch is when people began to join the man in his journey, as his small following soon reached the city limits of Lander CIty.
In Lander, some officials participating in the escort took fire from an armed gunman. Despite the mishap, civilians continued the run. gangstercomputergo_d remained ahead and continued on through Lander. The runners eventually arrived at Medford, marking the final stretch as they continued on back to Mersea.

Arriving at the streets of Mersea, marathon lead gangstercomputergo_d began to slow down from exhaustion, exclaiming that he could no longer sprint. Despite this, he pushed forward as he walked the remaining distance through the town, the runners (and drivers) arriving at the town’s local church.
Upon reaching the church, the runners came to a halt as they had met their finish line and began to celebrate. Officers fired their rifles into the air as gangstercomputergo_d exclaimed “WE DID IT!” before breaking down into a group dance, even playing accompanying music for the occasion.

Mersea residents gathered around the scene to witness the accomplishment, admiring the dedication of the runners. The participants expressed their support for Israel and CIPAC as the event concluded, sparking a lot of conversation around the block.
