On July 22nd, a large convoy of officers from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to an attack being carried out on the Clark County Correctional Facility. Although posing a significant threat to the security of the region and law enforcement personnel, the attacks weren’t performed by an organized group of criminals like one might expect. As it turns out, only one man was to blame for the armed assault.

After being neutralized for the shooting within the prison’s walls, the suspect proceeded to conduct a series of further attacks. Unlike the first one, they were not started within facility grounds but were still directed towards facility personnel. The attacker was found atop a hill overlooking the entrance to the prison, exchanging gunshots with the officials defending the prison.

However, the offender’s attacks didn’t last much longer after the man decided to drive down near the prison’s road of entry. As multiple police officers posted around the outskirts of the prison, the man was pulled over after only a brief period of driving near the attack site.

A quick investigation later, and the officers concluded that the man was, in fact, the attacker. He was promptly detained without further notice and swiftly brought back to the correctional facility, thus halting any further attacks the man intended to make.

No other attacks were reported after the attacker’s imprisonment; however increased security was sustained among the Clark County Correctional Facility for some time after the incident.
